Norma Sharon Blackstock

Norma Sharon Toxey Blackstock, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on October 31, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born on May 3, 1951, to Alfred and Minna Jean Toxey, Norma lived a life marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and a heart for others. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Randall Toxey, and great grandchildren Cooper and Drew Chatman.
Norma is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Tommy Wayne Blackstock, and their four children: Melissa Burt (BJ), Wendy Carroll (Shannon), Jonathan Blackstock (Shannon), and Jason Blackstock (Rebekah). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Shana Shaw (Todd), Kelsey Chatman (Mason), Kinsley Rose (Breland), Brianna Blackstock, Christian Blackstock, Colton Blackstock, and Brooks Blackstock, and a cherished great-grandmother to Sage Chatman, Everly Rose, and Kolbi Chatman.
She is also survived by her sister, Angelia Carlton (Buster), and her brothers, Eugene Toxey (Linda) and David Toxey (Donna).
Norma's life was a living testimony to her deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She taught numerous Bible studies and ministered to many throughout her life. Her home was a sanctuary of spiritual encouragement, especially for the cherished group of women known as the Lighthouse Ladies, who gathered regularly to study God's Word and uplift one another. Norma's greatest joy was knowing that all her children and grandchildren faithfully attend and serve in church.
Despite a lifetime of chronic illness, Norma never gave up. Her pain and suffering only deepened her walk with Christ. Her strength, resilience, and joy in the Lord were evident to all who knew her. She never met a stranger and was always eager to share the love of Jesus with everyone she encountered.
Norma's legacy is one of faith, family, and fierce love. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now fully healed and rejoicing in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. "Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise." Jeremiah 17:14 NKJV
A celebration of her life will be held at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, November, 7, 2025 at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 9:30 until time of service. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery, attended by family only.
