Nancy Cash Collins

Nancy Cash Collins, 85, wife of the late Arthur "Bates" Collins, died Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Born in Chesnee, SC, she was the daughter of the late R. L. and Lester Burnett Cash.
Nancy was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she served faithfully up until her health declined. During her years at Bethel, she served in the homebound ministry, sang in the choir, and taught in various children's ministries. She was also a member of the Harmony Sunday School class for many years.
She is survived by her son, Tony Collins (Susan); daughter, Tammy Burton (Kevin); grandchildren, Ashley Hunter (Cory), Alex Payne (Emilee), Haley Burton, and Graham Burton; great-grandchildren, Charlestyn, Charlotte, and Crew Hunter and Fowler and Lucas Payne; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Collins Payne and sisters, Vivian Wood, Wilma Jean Hall, and Linda Cash.
Nancy graduated from Chesnee High School, married Bates, and later moved to Greenville where she and Bates raised three children. She worked for years at Monaghan Mill and then at Steel Heddle Manufacturing Company in several administrative roles.
Nancy loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, her family, and her church. She found great joy in spending time with her family, especially in cooking for them, and her grandchildren lovingly called her "MaMa" and always felt welcome in her home. As her grandchildren were growing up, she spent time attending their recitals, athletic events, church and school programs. In recent years, she was excited to become a great-grandmother.
Nancy will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, hard worker, good friend and neighbor.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 07, 2025 from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at Bethel Baptist Church; the funeral service will follow at 2:00 at the church, with Rev. Daniel Lee officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
