Mars Hill - Nancy L. Fletcher, 75, passed away peacefully, Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Aroostook House of Comfort with her family at her side. What a joyous reunion she must have had with her mom and dad and in-laws, whom she has been asking for for so long.

Nancy was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was very involved in her work with NEA and MEA for many years of her life while working at the University of Maine. She was also a highly respected Paul Harris Fellow recipient through Presque Isle Rotary where she held many esteemed positions locally and internationally. She could be found during basketball season popping popcorn with Larry and within the past year making popcorn at the shop Friday nights.

For those who knew Nancy, her favorite motto was "you can't expect of others what you expect of yourself". Alzheimer's / Dementia is an absolute horrible disease. But every single day Nancy was still there in many ways. She fought a tough 6 years with Larry by her side 24/7 right up until the time she took her last breath.

Nancy was predeceased in this life by her mother and father, Phil Sr. and Ruth Parks; her mother and father-in-law, Arlene and John Fletcher; brother-in-law Bob Bisson and a sister Donna Worley.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry Fletcher, her beloved cat Suzie; her daughter Andrea and wife Macie Bell; her son Martin Fletcher; a very special "adopted daughter" Jennifer Griffin; grandson Kenny and wife Emily Bell, granddaughter Heather Bell; honorary granddaughter Hannah Embleton; her cherished great-grandchildren Brycen and Beckett Bell; a sister Dianne Bisson, a brother Phil Jr. and wife Ruth Parks; sister-in-law Claudia Hitchings; and many nieces and nephews she adored.

We would personally like to thank everyone who always had a kind word to say about Nancy and helped with her care; including all the wonderful nurses. We would like to send a heartfelt thanks to Central Aroostook Ambulance and Kris Bradstreet for getting her to the hospital last week and at the drop of a hat coming to transport her to the Aroostook House of Comfort. We would also like to especially thank the Aroostook House of Comfort for their amazing facility and the time and compassion they took to take care of Nancy and all of us in the process.

Per Nancy's wishes we will not be having a funeral. A celebration will be announced in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Arrangements in care of Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, ME 04758. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at: www.duncan-graves.com
