Nancy Jo (Jacobs)Hughes
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Nancy Jo Hughes, of Camby, Indiana, who passed away April 14, 2023, at the age of 72. Her family and friends mourn her passing, but remember fondly her beautiful life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hughes; parents, Loren P., and Nina (Smith) Jacobs; brother, Loren P. Jacobs, Jr.; grandson, Brandon Thomas Hughes.
She is survived by three sons, Jack (Virginia) Hughes, Thomas Lee (Lesley), Jeremiah (Crystal); sisters Paula Kershner and Betty (James) Reynolds; brothers, Oliver Lockwood, Steven (Jan), Robert, and Terry (Jackie) Jacobs; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Shiann), Jordan, Brady, Joshua (Kylie), Maddie Jo, Keely Mae, Blaine, Rayden, Jackson, McKenzie, Mason, Kaden, Jensen, Kendal, and Johnathan; great grandchildren, Lainey, Shawn, Essie, Emma, and Anna; several nieces and nephews. Nancy loved her family immensely.
Armed with a strong work ethic, Nancy was a member of Local Union #120 and worked as a heavy machine operator for Louis Linder & Son of Camby, Indiana, until her retirement. She loved working in her yard and growing many different plants. She had a special bond with her English Bulldog, BooBoo, who passed just weeks before Nancy’s death. Nancy was an awesome mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed!
Nancy’s visitation and funeral service will be held at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 39 E. High Street, Mooresville. Visitation will be from 12 Noon – 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023, with services beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery.
