Forever In Our Hearts

Nancy Elizabeth Hyde, age 49, of Fort Smith, passed away peacefully at home. Born and raised in Fort Smith, Nancy was a 1995 graduate of Roland High School in Roland, Oklahoma. Nancy's greatest joy was being "Nana" to her beloved granddaughters. She was known for her goofy sense of humor, her gift for making people laugh, and her heartfelt poetry. She loved the Lord deeply and cherished her family and friends. Nancy had a playful knack for purposely mispronouncing words, always bringing smiles to those around her. Her legacy lives on in her beautiful daughters and grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart.

She is survived by her four daughters, Elizabeth Mingo (Myron), Lauren Plata (Jose), Megan Owens, and Victoria Owens, all of Fort Smith; and their father, Robert Owens of Fort Smith. She is also survived by her siblings, Dave Hyde and William Hyde of Fort Smith, Sarah Graves (Mark) of Belcamp, Maryland, and Kathleen Barnes (Jacob) of Springdale; along with eight nephews, five nieces, four great-nieces, two great-nephews, and a great-nephew on the way. Nancy leaves behind two aunts, two uncles, and many cousins who were dear to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Marshall L. and Barbara Hyde; grandparents, Dr. Marshall E. and Margaret Hyde, and David and Alsea Britton; her aunt, Lynda Epting; her uncle, Gale Britton; and her grandson, Malachi Emon Owens.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Sunday, October 5, at 4:00 p.m. at Parkview Alliance Church, 904 Pine Street, Van Buren, Arkansas 72956.

Nancy will be remembered for her laughter, her faith, and her love for family that will continue to shine through the generations she leaves behind. Cremation is under the thoughtful care of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
