Nancy Lou McCaulley Kauer, born July 1, 1937, passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2025, after more than 14 months under hospice care. She was 87 years old.
Nancy was a lifelong Missouri native with a warm heart, quiet strength, and steadfast faith. She graduated from East High School in 1955 and shortly after, on June 23, 1956, married the love of her life, Arthur Raymond Kauer. Together, they shared 48 devoted years of marriage until Arthur's passing, building a family and life filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories.
She was a faithful member of Messiah Church of the Brethren in Kansas City, MO, and later worshipped at First Christian Church in Kearney, MO. Her faith remained a cornerstone of her life and a guiding light through times of both joy and sorrow.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Kauer; her daughter, Theresa Dee Kauer Wilson; her brother, John Milton McCaulley; her sister, Nell Rose McCaulley; and her grandson, Donald Glenn Kauer.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Lynn Kauer Roberts (husband Jeffrey Roberts); her son, David Arthur Kauer (wife Linda Paul); and her son-in-law, Ricky Wilson. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience.
Visitation will be held at First Christian Church in Kearney, MO, on Tuesday, April 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Brooking Cemetery in Raytown, MO, at 1:00 p.m. The family is forever grateful for the diligent hospice care she received that allowed her to remain at home in her final months.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Nancy's memory to First Christian Church in Kearney, MO.
She was deeply loved-and she will be dearly missed.
Arrangements are in care of Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.

April 28, 2025

Nancy and her whole family have been very dear to the Hazelrigg family. She would walk a mile to give you a cup of coffee or whatever you needed. One of the most unselfish person that I ever known. We loved you and there is no doubt you are reunited with your loved ones who have parished before you.
