Nancy Miller Lorz age 91, of Meadville passed away on Sunday morning December 21, 2025, in Wesbury United Methodist Community.
She was born in Tyrone, PA on July 27, 1934, the daughter of Grant and Marian (Grove) Miller.
She was a 1952 graduate of Meadville High School and on February 14, 1953, Nancy married Cyril Fredrick Lorz, Jr., he passed away on May 4, 1996.
Nancy was employed as the Lead Admissions Clerk at Meadville Medical Center for over 20 years, retiring in 1997. She was also a dedicated homemaker.
She was a faithful member of St. Brigid Catholic Church. Nancy had a keen interest in family history and genealogy and, through her research, was a member of numerous historical societies. She also enjoyed music and sang for many years in the church choir and in various vocal groups. In her leisure time, she enjoyed drawing, watching crime shows, old movies, spending time with her family and drinking wine.
She is survived by three daughters, Dr. Cindy Hoge and her husband John of Hamilton, NJ, Rebecca Smart of Greenfield, IA, Karen Figel and her husband Richard of Slippery Rock, PA; a son-in-law, Dr. K. James Bertram of Saegertown; six grandchildren, Tyler Lorz (Kristine), Ryan Smart (Megan), Brianne Smart, John Hoge, David Hoge, and Sarah Barcus (Aaron); three great grandchildren, Peyton Lorz, Jackson Lorz, Arthur Barcus; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Steven Lorz, daughter, Susan Bertram, brother, William Grant Miller, and sister, Donna Marie Addison.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the time of service in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Father Kyle Seyler, officiating. Immediately following the service, the burial with committal prayers will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
