Nancy Ruth Smith Mitchell, 90, of Windmill Hill Road, Bluefield, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born on March 13, 1935 in Charleston, WV, she was a daughter of the late George Epperly and Ila Elizabeth Lawrence Smith. She was a longtime and faithful member of Pine Grove Church of Christ. She attended National Business College and had been a homemaker for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Junious Mitchell; and a brother Donald George Smith, Sr.
Survivors include daughter, Nancy Karen Dixon of Bluefield; son, Donald Keith (Carole) Mitchell of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Kristina Dixon, Danielle Dixon, Jennifer (Chris) Yeatman and Melissa Mitchell; great grandsons, Reed B. Yeatman and Banks Mitchell Yeatman; sister, Elizabeth Frances Cook of Blacksburg, VA; nephew, Donald (Sharon) Smith of Tazewell, VA; and nieces Debbie (Mary Leigh Wolfe) Cook of Blacksburg, VA and Kim (Martin) Ramirez of New Holland, PA.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Noon at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Minister Gary Lamie officiating. Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 AM on Monday at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
