Nancy Ann Pence

The family of Nancy Ann Pence sadly relays the news of her passing on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the age of 88. She was born to Herbert and Margaret (Toyne) Kleinrichert on July 5, 1935.
Nancy is survived in death by her sisters, Louise Eykholt, Joan Homan, her brother, John Kleinrichert, and husband John McNamara. Nancy was preceded in death by her former husband of 64 years, Perry Pence.
Nancy attended Saint Mary's College before marrying Perry Pence in 1956. She is survived by five daughters, Ann Marie, Barbara, Mary, Martha and Paula, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed being with and supporting her husbands. She had an amazing gift of organization and management which she used in raising her family and in various volunteer endeavors. She enjoyed the arts, reading, travel and being with friends.
She had a long and happy marriage with Perry. They had wonderful adventures when they lived in Okinawa and Thailand with their daughters, as Perry worked throughout Asia beginning in the late 1960's. They returned to the States with their children in 1971, creating a home and life together in Osceola, Indiana. As they approached retirement they bought and created a home on Lake Papakeechie offering it as an oasis for family and friends, especially for the grandchildren.
Following Perry's death Nancy married John McNamara in September of 2022. Nancy and John greatly enjoyed their time together attending family sporting events, Grandchildren's activities, watching Notre Dame sports, traveling, and going on various adventures.
Nancy had a deep and abiding faith in God. She was a long-time parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish in South Bend and more recently a member at St. Anthony de Padua, also of South Bend.
We thank the nurses of Center for Hospice Care for their loving care.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2822 Corpus Christi Drive, South Bend, IN 46628, where friends and family may visit one hour prior to the mass.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers and requested to go to the church, The Center for Hospice or Right to Life.
