Nancy Sue Raine

Nancy Sue Raine, 88, of Amarillo, TX died Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2024, at Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Jared Houze of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Nancy was born January 19, 1936, in Amarillo, TX to Albert Richard “Dick” and Nancy (Teel) Bivins.

She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College in New Orleans, LA, and earned a bachelor's degree in English and a master’s in special education from The University of Texas at Austin.  She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.  She also was a member of DAR For many years she taught in Midland, Amarillo, Marfa, and Houston.

In her spare time, she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, and spending time with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael John Raine; and her sister, Sarah Ann “Sally” Bivins.

Survivors include her brother, Richard Presnall Bivins and wife D. Anne, of Norwood, MA; a niece, Michelle M. Jameson, and her daughter, Emma Rose, of Walpole, MA; and two nephews, James M. Bivins, of Portland, ME, and Russell A. Bivins, of Concord, NH, and his daughters, Anastacya Gleason and Candis Beverley.
