Nancy Gayle Hicks Rust, age 70, of Bowling Green, KY received her Heavenly wings on Friday August 1, 2025 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Nancy was born in Greenville, SC and grew up in Macon, Georgia, daughter of the late Claude Wade Hicks Sr. and Annie Floryde Dent Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James "Jim" Hicks.

Nancy was a beloved and supportive mother and grandmama who loved nothing more than to be at the ballfield supporting her Allstars. If it was a Georgia game day, you can guarantee Nancy is dressed in her game day attire supporting her Bulldogs. She enjoyed adopting and helping all animals, finding joy in giving them a second chance at life and a loving home.

Nancy worked and retired from Community Action of Southern Kentucky, where she found joy in supporting families and making a meaningful difference-before retiring with a heart full of purpose. Nancy had a heart of gold, and anyone lucky enough to cross her path walked away a little kinder, a little wiser, and probably with a homemade Christmas cookie in hand.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Larry Rust, three sons, Cole Rust (Melanie), James Rust (Mary Carter) and Matthew Rust (Sarah), one brother, Claude "Bud" Hicks Jr.(Marilyn) and her four grandchildren, Jaxon, Kylie, Wyatt and Ellie Rust.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM followed by burial in the Bowling Green Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
