Nancy Leah Weaver

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Nancy Leah Weaver. She was born on September 2, 1930, in St Louis, Missouri, to Lawrence Hulsey and Ruth McKee Hulsey. She passed to her heavenly home on Saturday August 9th, 2025. Nancy spent the first part of her life in Missouri and Kansas before moving to Oklahoma in 1971. She met and married David Lee Weaver and moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1977 where she resided until her death. She was a master seamstress making a lot of clothes for herself and Tina. She spent many hours making herself square dance dresses and matching shirts for Dave. She and Dave were instrumental in starting the Pleasant Hill Swingers Square Dance Club here in Guthrie. They traveled all over the United States going to national square dance conventions and made many friends. Nancy continued square dancing until Dave's death in 2004. Nancy's pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. There was never a conversation up until her departure where she didn't ask about how the kids were doing. Nancy is survived by both of her children, Michael Wayne Gleason and fiancé, Rebecca Barker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Tina Louise Smedley and husband, Earl of Guthrie; grandson, Blaine Smedley and wife, Jane of Guthrie and granddaughter, Kamber Beck and husband, Cole of Edmond, Oklahoma. She has 7 great-grandchildren, Holly Holmes, Bentley Smedley, Leah Smedley, Alora Smedley, Ellie Smedley, Marie Smedley and Lottie Beck. She is also survived by two brothers, Gary Hulsey and wife, Betty of Larned, Kansas and Ron Hulsey and wife, Julia of Hutchinson, Kansas; and one sister, Nova O'Brien of Wentzville, Missouri; as well as many nieces and nephews that cared for her deeply. Nancy was a member of St Luke's Methodist Church in Edmond. We would like to extend special thanks to Golden Age Nursing Home and Companion Hospice for all their love and care in her final days on Earth. A graveside celebration of life for Nancy will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday August 15th, 2025 at Summit View Cemetery located at 1808 North Pine Street in Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funder Home, 220 North 1st Street, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.
