Nancy A. Xander, 81, of Danielsville, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2024. Born on June 23, 1943, to the late John and Ruth (Krasley) Mihalick, Nancy grew up in a warm household that set the foundation for the loving and faith-filled life she would lead.
Nancy was a graduate of Catasauqua High School, class of 1960. After graduation, she worked for McLean Packaging. However, her true vocation was that of a homemaker, a role she embraced with all her heart. Raising her children and later, her grandchildren and great-grandson, was where Nancy found her greatest joy and fulfillment.
In 1976, Nancy married her beloved husband, Dan Xander, and together they embarked on a journey of love and partnership that lasted over 48 years. Their union was blessed with four children: Tom and his wife Mary Jo, Chris and his wife Alissa, Jennifer and her husband David, and Sonya and her husband Henry. Nancy's legacy continued to flourish through her loving grandchildren: Christian, Ethan, Steven, Alexis, Aislinn, Xander, Henry, Benjamin, Mason and Emilie and she was overjoyed by the arrival of her great-grandson, Antonio. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Mihalick, and her sisters, Jean Surman and Shirley Shiner.
A faithful and active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Cherryville, Nancy's commitment to her faith was evident in her involvement with the social ministry, the soup kitchen, WELCA, and the Red Hats.
Nancy's interests were a reflection of her love for creativity and her community. She enjoyed crafting, reading, crocheting and family camping, activities that not only brought her personal satisfaction but also allowed her to contribute to the warmth and beauty of her home and church. Above all, Nancy cherished the time spent with her family. Whether it was raising her children, celebrating milestones with her grandchildren, or her great-grandson, these moments were the highlights of her life.
Nancy's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her spirit will live on through the memories she created with her family and friends. Her example of unwavering love, deep faith, and friendly nature will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones.

September 16, 2024

My deepest condolences to Nancy's family. I remember her as one of the people who delivered soup kitchen meals to my mom Marian before her passing. My mother loved to talk to Nancy when she stopped by to discuss the latest happenings at the church. I was shocked to hear of Nancy's passing, she was taken too soon. She was a kind soul. May God Bless. Sincerely, Mary Ann Druckenmiller
