Nathan Greene went home to be with the Lord at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC on November 8,2023. He was born on October 28, 1947 in Henderson County NC. He graduated from West Henderson High School, and then went on to join the United States Army. He was a 1st sergeant, and honorably served our country in Vietnam. He had a distinguished military career. He was a born again Christian, and began his work as an Evangelist in 1993. He obtained an associates degree in theology from The Bread of Life Bible college. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC. Nathan enjoyed spending time with his two sons and their families. He especially enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. He had an amazing ability to make friends everywhere he went.
He was the son of the late Claude Arlo Greene and Ruth Rogers Greene. He was also preceded in death by three brothers Reuben, Curtis, and Johnny Greene and one sister Ethelene (Ray) Huggins, and one brother in law James Graham. Left to cherish his memory are his two sons Stephen Israel (Alicia) of Fletcher, NC; Timothy Israel (Jennifer) of Douglasville, GA;, Grandchildren Savannah and Ava Israel; Brothers Floyd Greene (Ann), David Greene (Millie), Allen Greene (Vicki); Sisters Geraldine Graham and Wanda (Jim) Robertson; sister in law Bobbie Greene; along with many nieces and nephews. Special friends; Brandon, Amelia, Isaiah, and Josiah LaNave.
A funeral service will be held on Monday November 13, 2023 at 2:00pm at Prospect Baptist Church in Mooresboro, NC. Reverend Steve Rhinehart and Reverend Tim Elmore will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family wishes to thank Wendover Hospice House for their care and compassion. Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC is serving the family
