Funeral service for Nathaniel "Truck" Hunter, 48, of Spring Garden will be Thursday, June 05, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Wes Neyman officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Nathaniel passed away Sunday, June 01, 2025. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Emily Acker Hunter of Spring Garden; son, Joel Hunter of Spring Garden; mother and father -in-law, Pam and Ted Acker of Spring Garden ; sister and brother-in-law, Carrie and Matthew Yakely of Piedmont; niece and nephew, Natalie and Sawyer Yakely. Pallbearers will be Erwin Reyes, Tim Bates, Marcus Woods, Clint Goss, Matthew Yakely and Danny Black. Nathaniel was a native of Georgia and a long-time resident of Spring Garden. He was a member of the Piedmont First Baptist Church and was an I. T. Specialist at the Cherokee County Board of Education. He loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed watching his son play sports and was an avid Florida Gators and Atlanta Braves fan. He was preceded in death by his parents Malcolm and Jeanette Hunter and an infant brother.
