Nathaniel Lamar Spears was born on March 9, 1992, in Ashtabula, OH. His parents are Judyann Harris and Nathaniel Spears who both reside in Columbus, OH. Nathaniel Spears unexpectedly passed away on February 12, 2023, in Columbus, OH. He was 30 years old.
From adolescence, Nate has always loved basketball and money. He's always had a hustling spirit. As a child, he began to sell chips and candy to other children. He was a force to be reckoned with on and off the basketball court. His historical basketball highlights can be found on Youtube. Nate also played football, where he dominated the field with the Red Devils and became #1 in the State during his Senior year. Nate graduated from Marion Franklin in 2011.
He then went on to attend Columbus State and Akron University. Nate was the life of the party with a smile that would brighten up anyone's mood. He was far from perfect and was working so hard to become a better man everyday.
Despite what he was going through or how he felt, he kept a positive attitude and kept stepping. He stayed clean and fly, all while making sure his children did as well. Nate loved everybody he knew, especially his children. He never left or ended a conversation without saying "I love you."
Nathaniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Judy Harris and Moses Harris. He is survived by his only son, Nathaniel L. Spears, Jr.; four daughters, Natalie Spears, Nyla Spears, Naomi Spears, and Nalani Spears; parents, Judyann Harris and Nathaniel Spears; siblings (oldest to youngest), Darryl Spears, Jasmine Harris, Shanetta Harris, David Spears, and Shia Spears; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
