Ned A. Ufford, 94, of Lubbock, Texas passed away December 11, 2022.
Ned was born January 25, 1928 in Bridgeport, NE to Eldo Nicholas and Fyrne Jessie Ufford. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1949 as a Sergeant. He married Frances Unruh on August 17, 1956 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. After leaving work as a millwright for Potlatch Forest Industries in Idaho, Ned owned and operated several small businesses in Montana, Idaho, and Washington. They moved to Lubbock in 1968. Ned was self-employed in the home and commercial remodeling business, and was much in demand for his wide skills in commercial and residential remodeling.
Loved ones include son, David Ufford (Terry) of Tucson, Arizona; son, Steve Ufford (Christy) of Amarillo, Texas; and son, Gary Ufford (Kelly) of Lubbock, Texas; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Eldo and Fyrne; brothers and sisters, Eldon, Robert, Dean, James (Jim) and Bernice; his wife, Frances Ufford and grandson, Nicholas Ufford.
Ned was known for his aptitude for mechanical and machinery applications, his "can-do" attitude, a generous heart, and the love of his greatest accomplishment and legacy, his family. He and Frances worked hard to instill the value of hard work and morals in their three sons. Both he and Frances had a strong and abiding faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Lubbock, or Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
Family visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home Friday, December 16, 2022, 5:30 to 7:00 PM. A celebration of his life will take place 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 in Sanders Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. A webcast of services will be available as well as our online guest book.
