Neil Dove Obituary

Visit the Smith Family Funeral Homes - Glenwood website to view the full obituary.

Neil Dove, age 51, of Glenwood, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 4, 1973, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Kenneth and Ruby Dove.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Ruby Dove; brother-in-law, Jimmy Markham; his niece, Brittany Dawn Markham; and his grandfather, Rufus Jenkins.

He is survived by his three beloved children, Jacob Dove and Kaleb Dove, both of Glenwood, and Kristin Dove of Mountain Pine; his siblings Loretta (Don) Barber of Central Zachary, LA, Kenneth Dove Jr. of Baker, LA. Deborah (Gary) Wright of Glenwood, Martha (Chuck) Lambert of Glenwood, Linda (David) Salisbury of Hope, Janese Markham of Glenwood, his twin brother Jimmy (Marie) Dove of Glenwood, and Christie (Devin) Smith of Lodi; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronald and Tammie Jenkins of Glenwood; and his sister-in-law, Sabrina (Denis) Guillette of Hot Springs. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews- Ashley, Zack, Alex, Wade, Elizabeth, Samantha, Justin, Megan, Shawn, Carson, Caylee, and Chandler-along with numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. Two honorary sons, Justin Pelt and Nick Anglin, also held a special place in his heart.

Neil spent most of his career working in the logging woods before beginning a new chapter at Wal-Mart, where he worked alongside his twin brother and sister-in-law. He truly enjoyed his time there, making lasting friendships and collecting countless stories and memories. His favorite story to tell was about "Robbie the drunken robot". He would laugh until he had tears in his eyes, telling those stories.

Above all, Neil was a devoted father. His children were the center of his world, and he loved nothing more than taking them hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking family meals, and having family gatherings. He will also be remembered for his quick wit and playful sense of humor- especially his tradition of stealing Kristin's green Jolly Ranchers and leaving her only the red ones. Wherever Neil went, he was always telling jokes, so laughter and joy followed.

Neil's family and friends will remember him for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love for those closest to him. He asked that his life be celebrated and that the many good times and special memories that he created live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home of Glenwood, AR.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home of Glenwood, AR, with Devin Smith and Jarrid Francis officiating. Interment will follow at Lodi Cemetery.
