Johnson – Neil A. Johnson, Jr., age 79, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on August 22, 2025. He was born on October 17, 1945, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Neil Alfred Johnson, Sr. and Margaret Pauline Johnson. Neil devoted much of his life to sharing his love of music with others. As a music instructor and small business owner, he touched the lives of countless students and customers through his music store. His passion for music and teaching will long be remembered by those fortunate enough to have learned from him. On October 19, 1997, Neil married the love of his life, Linda Lou Smart Johnson. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and enduring faith. Neil's life was defined by resilience, faith, and his devotion to his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Neil was preceded in death by his sons, Neil Johnson, III, Michael Johnson, Scott Johnson; and brother, Vernon Meeks.

Neil is survived by his loving wife, Linda; stepdaughters, Lesa Klauer (Mike), Kim Bybee (Tony), Cheryl Holloway (Steven); sisters, Marie Nettles, Martha "Mossie" Johnson, Barbara Yorkovitch; adopted brothers, Dale Johnson, Danny Johnson; his cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Clayton, Kearston, Kayleigh, Luke, Cody, Matt, Grace, Zachary, Elijah, Michael, Damien, Tyler; and six great grandchildren. He will also be remembered fondly by extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Neil's Life will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Wimberly officiating. Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
