Obituary
On Friday, May 12, 2023, Neil C. Kuehnast, husband and father, passed away at the age of 88. Neil was born on May 20, 1934, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie; his parents, Oscar and Meryl Kuehnast, and his brother, Robert Kuehnast.
After graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisville's Speed Scientific School, Neil worked professionally as an engineer and retired from Brown Forman Corporation in 1994. He married his wife, Tina on September 2, 1967 and had two daughters, Carrie Christine and Kathryn Ann. Neil had a deep appreciation for classical music and was a lifelong University of Louisville Basketball fan. Those who knew him admired his great love of numbers and could count on him for his precision and accuracy. He will also be remembered for his strong character and the importance of living his life with honesty.
He is survived by his wife Tina and his daughter Kathryn as well as his two granddaughters, Taylor and Hadley. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The service for Neil will be held in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery, 1600 Newburg Road, Louisville, Kentucky, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

Neil was my grandfather, and I would say that my earliest memory of him was setting up the hose in the backyard so that we could play with the sprinkler as children. He was a great grandfather and I will always be grateful for the time I spent with him!
