Neil A. Martelli, 75, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died late Tuesday afternoon, April 29, 2025, at his residence with his loving wife by his side. He was born and educated in Springfield a son of Anthony and Ernestine (Boynton) Martelli and was a graduate of the former Putnum High School.
Neil was employed with the former Hallmark Card Company in Enfield as the senior maintenance technician for over 20 years, retiring in 2016. Some of his favorite pastimes included working in and around his yard and candlepin bowling.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Brenda J. (Aldrich) Martelli and leaves four daughters, Traci Connors and her husband Michael of Longmeadow, Victoria Makuch of Chicopee, Nicole Martelli and her husband John Connor of Sturbridge, and Angelina Moran and her husband Mark of Ludlow; a step-daughter, Allison Gagn of Springfield, two step-sons, James Gagn of Springfield, and Merrill Gagn and his wife Jennifer of Greenfield; 18 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Besides his parents Neil was predeceased by his son, Anthony E. Martelli, his brother, Edward Choquette, and sister, Melsa Dearborn.
Relatives and friends are welcome to visit on Wednesday evening, May 7th from 4-6 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street in Springfield. Burial will be private.
