Nelda Fay Bohn was born August 20, 1939 to Leon and Pearl McBride in Carnegie, Oklahoma. She was raised on a farm in the Alfalfa community. She graduated from Alfalfa in 1957.
She was preceded in death by her mother; father; her son, Gary Paul Evans; her daughter, Inna Caldwell; grandson, Allen Bradley Caldwell; and great granddaughter, Ava Madison Caldwell.
She loved her family and the Lord more than life itself.
She is survived by her son, Harold Bohn; son-in-law, Randall Caldwell; her brothers, Carlos and his wife Joyce, Dewane and wife Laraine, Earl and his wife Mary; sister, Charlotte; many nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many friends.
After Nelda graduated, she returned to the family farm and learned to plow with a John Deere tractor, which scared her as it was so high off the ground. She also learned to move the irrigation pipes in the fields. She also worked at Southwestern Bell in Chickasha until it went to Dial Telephone.
She moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1960 and worked for Mid-Continent news, also McKesson and Robins Drug. In 1966 she worked at Western Electric, which changed to AT&T. She worked there for 35 years and retired in 2001. She stayed home for a while but needed to be busy so she went to work parttime for the Chesapeake arena with Thunder Basketball and other events for 10 years. This didn't keep her busy enough, so she also worked for the Dodgers baseball for seven years. When basketball was over then it was time for baseball, keeping her busy.
She loved working until her spinal stroke in 2018, it was hard for her to sit back, for she loved to work in her yard and garden. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren coming to stay with her, playing games, and spending time with them.
She loved to cook and best of all; in later life she enjoyed the Lord's teaching and her lady's bible class where she was a member of the Cherokee Hills Church of Christ.
She loved everyone and always made a friend wherever she went.
She believed to not let your troubles get you down, be determined, and don't give up, which her family follows by example.
