Nelda Jackson

Nelda Faye Storrer Jackson was born in Madison, Kansas, on May 12, 1937, the daughter of Eli and Clara (Neuenschwander) Storrer. Her mother passed away when Nelda was just five years old, and her father lived a long life as a hardworking farmer. Nelda was the youngest and last surviving of five siblings-her brother Allen, and her sisters Lauana, June, and Edith preceded her in death.
In 1959, Nelda married the love of her life, Jerry Jackson. Together they shared many wonderful years and moved several times throughout their life together. Jerry passed away in 1995, and their infant daughter, who passed at birth, also preceded her in death.
Nelda leaves behind four loving children who were blessed by her example of kindness, strength, and joy for life: Shelley (Louis) Bieber, Jana (Buster) Prestage, Marsha Evans, and Jay (DeeAnn) Jackson.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren-Jennie, Nicole, Rayne, Tess, Shannon, Jordan, Mallory, and Connor-and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply.
Nelda was loved by all who met her. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and kind heart touched everyone around her. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by her family and all who knew her.
