My Beloved Husband Nelson reached his final destination in Heaven on Saturday, November 2, 2024, on the Feast of All Souls. His loving face heard the wonderful words longed for: "Well done, My good and faithful servant."
Nelson was born on February 28, 1947, in Mt Holly, New Jersey, the son of Nelson and Angeline Mary Baiocchi (Iannuzzi), was raised in Delanco, Croydon, and Bristol, and attended St. Thomas Aquinas and Jefferson Avenue Grade School, and graduated from Bristol High School in 1966. Later in life, Nelson attended Bucks County Community College.
He served in the US Army as a Specialist E5, served in Vietnam during TET in 1968 where militaries sustained heavy losses, and he was awarded numerous medals including the Bronze Star. Besides his official duties in camp, he supported medical personnel with the wounded. For many years he suffered from the chemical effects of Agent Orange and diesel fuel toxicity.
Throughout his life, he worked at Franklin Electric, Hill Refrigeration (electrical blueprinting), and retired from Congoleum Corporation as a National Sales Administrator where he specifically worked on designing national conventions where he very much enjoyed using his imaginative and creative abilities.
Nelson was a fantastic dancer and loved music. He did the best jitterbug and Bristol Stomp. He even choreographed an infamous dance routine at Bristol High. He and Joan were professionals and won dance contests. His voice was amazing and he could belt out My Way accompanied by Joan on the piano.
The joy of his life and purpose in life was his son Mark. Although Nelson suffering the effects of war and Agent Orange exposure from an early age with long-term heart disease and pulmonary fibrosis, as well as other issues, his quest for life to see his son mature into a fine young man, graduate summa cum laude with a Master's, marry, and see his grandchildren were his deepest prayers to God.
Nelson had an amazing, outgoing, joyous, caring and compassionate personality and extended himself to anyone needing an ear or help. He believed, as his idol Danny Thomas, that if God gave to Him, he would give to others. He believed hope is in Christ.
Nelson was also a very deeply religious man, grounded in his Catholic faith. His favorite saint in prayer was Padre Pio and encouraged everyone to pray to him.
He is survived by his loving, faithful, and supportive wife Joan, his son Mark (Cheryl), grandchildren Andrew (deceased), Mark and Arabella Grace, brother Robert (Linda), sisters Joanne and Diane (Frank), brother-in-law Anthony (Denise), his godchildren, nieces, great nieces, nephews, and many cousins. He truly loved and adored them all.
There will be a private viewing for immediate family only at Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home followed by a private interment at Newtown Cemetery. As per Nelson's wishes to have a reunion of family and friends, a formal celebration of life at a future date is planned.
Nelson would appreciate any Memorial Contribution Gift be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children, Wounded Warriors, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or one of your choice.
