It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nelson John LaComb, Jr., who passed away on August 26, 2025 at HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center. He was 70.
As a DJ, Nelson shared his love for music with friends and family, bringing joy and laughter to gatherings with his lively playlists. He also loved spending time outdoors, whether he was cutting rice in the fields or crawfishing. Nelson will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Susan Plaisance LaComb of Gueydan; nine children, Crystal and husband, Weldon Schexnider of Lake Arthur, Anthony LaComb and wife, Kim of Moss Bluff, David LaComb and wife, Sabrina of Lake Arthur, Monica LaComb of Winnie, TX, Cricket and husband Jarrod Larry of Mermentau, C.C. and spouse, Jess Bourque of Morse, Mandy Petry of Jennings, Justin Petry and wife, Aline of Gueydan, and Lacei Plaisance and significant other, Edward Huntsberry of Gueydan; 23 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Loretta Lewis of Topsy; and one brother, Ricky LaComb and wife, Susan of Dequincy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson John LaComb, Sr. and the former Viola Trahan; his sister, Debra Ann LaComb Black; and one grandson, Dante LaComb.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff at HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center.
