Neva Kay Thompson, 85, formerly of Nevada, MO passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Butler Rehab & Healthcare Center, Butler, MO. Neva was born on August 19, 1939, in New York, New York to Herman and Rose (Konya) Gunn. She married Bill Thompson who preceded her in death in November, 2015.
Neva is survived by 6 children and 1 stepson; Michael Davis, Butler, MO, Kenny Davis, Urbana, MO, Greg Davis, Chicago, IL, Dennis Davis (Nancy), Blue Springs, MO, Sandi Leister (Johnny), Amsterdam, MO, Jeff Davis, Butler, MO, and Gary Thompson (Julie), Columbia, MO; 11 grandchildren, Jason Davis, Blue Springs, MO, Brandon Davis (Rachel), Grain Valley, MO, Tabitha Leister (Leeanna), Butler, MO, Garey Dale Davis (Ashley), Butler, MO, Rachel Davis, Blue Springs, MO, Ross Davis, Kansas City, MO, Sam Godberson (Jordan), Olathe, KS, Dorian Davis, Chicago, IL, Presly Davis, Kansas City, MO, Patrick Cruz and Summer Davis, both of Lee's Summit, MO, Jordan Davis, Independence, MO, Jocee Davis, Grain Valley, MO ; 7 great-grandchildren Johnny Godberson, Olathe, KS, Elaina Davis, Aarolyn Davis, Ezra Davis, and River Davis, all of Lee's Summit, MO; and a sister, Charlene Hilston, state of California.
In addition to her husband, Bill, Neva was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Herman and Rose Gunn of Chicago, IL; and her stepson, Rick Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Ferry Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Daugherty officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at a later date in Moore Cemetery.
