Nicholas Deandre Barnes, beloved son of Ethel Erickson and Kevin Erickson, passed away on 4-10-2024 at the age of 44.
Nick brought immense joy and love into the lives of all who knew him and was known for his extremely giving spirit. Born on July 13,1979, he was a source of endless laughter and happiness. He attended West High School where he excelled in Basketball.
He had a passion for the word of God and His teachings, Weightlifting, basketball and motorcycling and could often be found doing any of these things. Nicholas was known for his kindness, compassion, and bright smile that could light up any room and having a wonderful sense of humor and Joy.
He is survived by his wife Ebonee Barnes, Nick's daughter Tionna, son Robert, loving parents Ethel Erickson and Kevin Erickson, mother-in-law: Bonnie Cannon; and brother-in-law: Carlos Cannon, sister Shakerria Danielle Goss and brother Mario Goss, and his grandmother Alice (Goss) Robinson. Also surviving relatives include Aunts Lacy Thompson, Sheryl Harrell, Edith Timmons, Shirley Barnes. Uncles: Wilson (Eunice) Barnes, JD Barnes, Joe Lee Johnson, and Ransom Barnes; He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His is preceded in death with his father Tommy Goss, his grandmother Lucy Barnes, his grandfather Earl Johnson, his grandfather Nelson Goss.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, 10:00 am to 1 pm with service to follow at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd, Sioux City Iowa,51104). Please send any donations to Meyer Brothers Funeral Home care of Nicholas and Ebonee Barnes.
Though his time with us was far too brief, Nicholas leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever live on in our hearts.
Rest in peace, dear Nick. May your spirit soar among the stars and God's grace shine on you in Heaven as well as all of His children on earth.
