Nicholas James Greene, 34, of Portland passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 4th, 2023. Nick was born on January 27th, 1989 and grew up in Portland, where he attended Portland schools. He spent many summers days swimming and boating at his grandparent's house on Little Sebago Lake, and enjoyed snowboarding in the winter. In his youth he played the drums and guitar, and even formed a band with his friends. Growing up on Pennell Ave., Nick, his younger brother David, and their neighborhood friends had fun skateboarding, rollerblading, playing street hockey, and just hanging out and enjoying each other's company.
Nick was a talented artist and an avid skateboarder who could often be seen skating to his destinations in and around town. Nick was a compassionate person who loved his community, friends, and family dearly. He loved his daughter above all else. Nick was dearly loved by his family and friends, and the memories we have of him will always be cherished.
Nick is survived by his beloved daughter Bailey Greene, longtime partner Michelle Gerrish, mother Charlotte Joy and her husband Andy Joy, brother David Greene and his wife Chólage Boudreau, sister Angela Greene, father Frederick Greene, nephew Jonah Greene, maternal grandparents Janet and Larry Nowinski, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents Richard Greene and Marylou Merrill.
A Time of Sharing & Remembering will be from 5-8 PM on Friday March 24, 2023 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland, Maine 04102. A Private burial service will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
