Nicholas Izzi Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley & Stow Funeral Home on Feb. 5, 2024.
Nicholas F. Izzi of Southampton, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the age of 88. He was born in South Philadelphia in 1935 to the parents of Mildred and Joseph Izzi. Nicholas (Nicky) grew up in South Philadelphia where he met his beloved wife Mary, when she was just shy of 15. Nicky and Mary were together for 71 years and married for over 67. They lived in Willingboro for over 39 years where they raised their daughter, Sharon Lee.
Nicholas worked in the printing ink and graphic arts industry for 51 years. Some of the companies included Polychrome, BASF, and Superior Printing Ink. Initially his goal was to be a chemist. He attended Drexel University and later Rutgers part time while working a full time job. Family hardship necessitated his leaving school.
Nicky was a man of many interests and talents. He dabbled in writing, art, and had a real passion for cooking. Nick was an excellent cook and could have been a professional chef. He won several local cooking contests in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania area. Nicholas was also on two local television programs: Let's Cook and Ready Set Cook. For a period of time he did cooking demonstrations at Kitchen Kapers calling himself, "The Happy Cooker". Nick even self-published a paperback cookbook long before the days when it could be done on line.
Nicholas is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary, and his beloved daughter, Sharon Lee. He was also blessed to have the love of his brother, Carmen Palange, Niece, Joann Paul and her husband Gary Paul. Other cherished members of his extended family include goddaughter, Susan Picciano (husband Anthony), Joseph Giafaglione (wife Lisa and sons Joe Jr. and Anthony), Francis (Buck) Krajain and deceased wife Linda and their children, Troy and Elena.
There are also many cherished cousins and friends who were important to the fabric of Nick's life. We will miss him beyond words and will always hold him close to our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday February 8, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford NJ 08055. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Jesus, Bread of Life Cemetery, 3055 Fostertown Road, Mount Laurel NJ 08054.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 support.woundedwarriorproject.org
