Nicolas P. Grubb went missing mid-November of 1976. His remains were found in a cave at the Pinnacle off of the Appalachian Trail on January 16, 1977, Albany Township, PA. For many years, he became known in the media as "The Pinnacle Man." He was recently identified and his name was given back to him. Nicolas (Nicky) was born in England on January 3rd, 1950 to the late Paul C. and Aline (nee Newman) Grubb.
As a young boy, Nicky came to the United States with his grandparents, Norman and Pauline Grubb, residing at 709 Pennsylvania Avenue; Fort Washington, PA. He attended Plymouth White Marsh High School and honorably served in the PA National Guard.
He is survived by his cousin, Daniel (Marlene) Grubb, Jr., New Milford, CT.
Nicky was followed in death by his grandparents, Aunt Pris, sister--Sandra E. Grubb, and his parents.
Nicolas will be laid to rest next to his grandparents on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at George Washington Memorial Park located at 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
The Grubb family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation for the dedicated work of The Pennsylvania State Police and The Berks County Coroner's Office whose persistent efforts allowed for the identification of Nicky.
Nicky has never been forgotten; may he rest in peace.
