Nicole Diane Sage, 58, of Knoxville, Iowa passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, surrounded by love. Nicole's family will greet guest from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on July 1, 2025, at Pierschbacher's (Corner of Harlan and Main St.) in Knoxville. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Nicole will be interred in Gosport Cemetery.
Nicole was a force - a wild, beautiful soul who never met a stranger. With a personality as bold as her laugh, she was real, raw, and unapologetically herself. Nicole lived life on her own terms, never holding back, always lifting others up, and constantly reminding everyone around her to "Do it for Jonny."
She was a bad ass - carefree, hilarious, quick-witted, and never afraid to speak her truth. Her love was fierce and unwavering. Whether you needed a laugh (such as telling people to ask her if she was a potato- and then quickly answering "no" when finally asked), a hug, or someone to go to war for you, Nicole showed up. She could walk into a room and instantly brighten it, usually followed by a wild story and a contagious smile.
Nicole was the best grandma ever - down to earth, protective, and endlessly loving. She gave her heart freely, especially to her grandkids, who were the joy of her life. She was the one you called in a crisis, the one who gave until she had nothing left, and the one who would always tell it like it is.
She was a fighter, a giver, a grandma, a sponsor, a mentor, a friend. Her spirit, her laugh, her fire - they live on in every life she touched. Nicole is survived by her children, Kaliegh (Mike) Norris and Dillon Sage (Kaitlin Ford) of Knoxville; grandchildren: Hayden Norris, Kadince Wells, Hunter Wells, Layla Norris, Karson Norris, Khyler Ford and Wrenleigh Sage. She also leaves behind her mother, Barbara Walker; her brothers, Mike (Marge) Walker and Todd Walker; and many friends and chosen family who loved her deeply.
Nicole was preceded in death by her father, Jim Walker, and many cherished family members who now welcome her home.
