A loving mother, wife and daughter, a brilliant scientist, an enthusiastic teacher and a talented artist, Dr. Ning Zhou returned home to her Heavenly Father on December 26, 2022.
Ning was born in China in 1979, to her father Jian Zhou and mother Xuexia Lu. Ever since she was little, she had loved teaching and medicine. Later in her life, she became a professor in the College of Allied Health Sciences at East Carolina University.
Ning whole-heartedly loved her research and her students, and she was always full of life. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, music, photography, calligraphy and growing flowers. Nothing made her happier than a gathering of friends in the backyard with wines and barbecues.
Ning was a brave fighter and a winner. She never backed down from any challenges and was always able to achieve the impossible. In the last three years of her life, she had a heroic battle against cancer. Despite all the pain and torture, she loved God and followed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Ning was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her daughter Nora, her husband Zhen, her mother, her brother and his family, and two cats, Jane and Lizzy.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, her family kindly ask that you make a small donation for her students to her department using the link below.
