Norene Durbin Obituary

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Norene was born on July 1, 1951 the daughter of Orville and Gladys (Murray) Fillipp in Stanley. She graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1969 and earned an associate degree from CVTC in Eau Claire. On April 24, 1971, Norene was united in marriage to Robert Durbin at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee. Norene worked for ITT in Thorp, Owen Manufacturing and retired in 2022 from BP in Thorp.
Norene enjoyed computers, reading and puzzles. Her other interests included shooting pool, bowling and throwing horseshoes. She loved her pets, especially her cats. Norene especially loved and cherished her family.
Norene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert; her son, Ryan (Amanda) Durbin of Owen; two grandchildren: Jason Haas and Adrian Durbin; and two great-granddaughters: Frankie Mae and Willow Haas. She is further survived by her sister, Sandra Hinker of Greenwood; sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert Jr., her brother, Lynn Fillipp and two brothers-in-law.
