Norma Jean Gajdos, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep and woke up in Heaven on December 2, 2024. She was born on July 10, 1932, in Akron, OH to the late Zell and Helen Hicks. Norma was a graduate of South High School and retired from the City of Akron Vital Statistics Department. She enjoyed the excitement of gambling both in Las Vegas and locally. But most of all, Norma loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son George (Debra) Gajdos; her daughter Laurie (Ed) Latchaw; beloved grandchildren Kristin Latchaw, Nickolas (Amy) Latchaw; and great-grandson Aiden Latchaw; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years George Gajdos; sister Mildred Gilliam, and brother and sister-in-law Jerry and June Hicks.
A private service will be held for the family. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
