Norma Jean Rease, 79, of Delaware, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, February 22, 2025 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 24, 1945 in Delaware to the late Harold and Betty Jane (McIntire) Chambers. She would attend Buckeye Valley High School and go on to meet the love of her life Leroy Rease and have four wonderful sons.
Norma worked at Grady Memorial Hospital in many capacities for 37 years, retiring in 2007. She was a devoted and faithful member of Delaware Grace Brethren Church and an active volunteer with Meals of Wheels. A member of the Vintage Car Club in Delaware, she also enjoyed tending to her flower beds, camping and wintering in Florida.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert "Rob" Allen Rease, sisters Roseanne Marie Chambers, Nancy Ellen Chamber and Francis Elizabeth Chambers and her brother James Harold Chambers.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 60 years, Leroy Rease; sons, David (Suzanne) Rease of Sunbury, James (Delma) Rease of Sunbury, and Frank (Stacie) Rease of Delaware; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brother Richard Skatzes of Delaware; sister-in-law, Judy Kay (Rick) Neldon of Delaware; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 5 - 8 pm at the Snyder Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William St., Delaware, where services honoring the significance of Norma's life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Contributions in Norma's memory may be made to the Humane Society of Delaware County, 4920 OH-37, Delaware, OH 43015.
