Norman J. Chatelain, 61, died in Baton Rouge on January 15, 2026, following a brief and unfair fight against several strokes. He is survived by his son, Harley Chatelain.
Norman was known as one of the best certified auto mechanics in New Orleans and surrounding areas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob J. and Hazel Armand Chatelain, and his brothers Paul and Glenn “Geikel” Chatelain.
Norman is survived by his brother, Kerry (Theresa), and Sisters-in-Law, Patricia D. Chatelain and Bonnie M. Chatelain. He is also survived by nieces Jessica C. Griffith (Alex), Melissa C. Mitchell (Mark), Alyssa C. Martins (Steven) , and nephews Jeffery Chatelain, Gregory Chatelain (Brandi), and Jacob Chatelain. Norman also leaves behind to cherish his memory many cousins and friends.
Norman will always be remembered as the guy who loved racing cars, riding Harley’s, enjoying scuba diving adventures, and enjoying his life as he wished.
