Norman Johnson Obituary
Mr. Johnson, 81, of Colfax, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Valley View Health Care Facility, Marksville, LA.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to fish, cook, and to keep everyone laughing with his unforgettable jokes. A joyous spirit, he brightened every room he entered and left a lasting impression on the hearts of all he knew. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, LeJuan Painter Johnson; his parents, Newton and Leola Johnson; four brothers, Newton Johnson, Huey Johnson, Hershal Johnson, and J.H. Johnson; and seven sisters, Lucille Bimbo, Velma Futurell, Almarie Whitstine, Sybil McDonald, Maxine Mitchelle, Dorothy Lyles, and Geneva Hyde.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of twelve years, Misdy Johnson of Colfax; one son, Rodney Johnson (Angela) of Colfax; three daughters, Cynthia Ferarrand (Michael) of Ball, Shelley Mayeux (Jason) of Hessmer, and Analisa Coates of Athens, Pennsylvania; one sister, Sherry Vercher of Colfax; three grandsons, Justin Dubois, Ryan Hebert (Hope), and John Wayne Albert; one granddaughter, Loren Ducote (Dusty); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Justin Dubois, Ryan Hebert, Preston Lyles, Lonnie Johnson, Gabe Dubois, and Gene Maglathin. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Ferarrand, Jason Mayeux, and Dusty Ducote.
The family would like to extend special thanks to their Heart of Hospice Nurse, Heather Pierite, CNA Debra Lusk, Dr. Jane Singh, the staff at Valley View Nursing Home, and Designing Women of Winnfield.

Uncle Norman when I think of you, the first thing that comes to my mind is all those big warm smiles and that laugh that will forever be with us all. Uncle Norman loved God and no more suffering for him. "All things are made new." May God Bless Misdy for all she did for Uncle Norman day in and day out. Going over and beyond for Uncle Norman. I know my Aunt, Grandma and Grandpa Johnson all appreciate all the care and sacrifice it took to care for Uncle Norman because I know it´s certainly not an easy task. Bless you all. I love you all! Hugs with bunches of Love from a Niece and a Cousin Debbie.
