He graduated from Goessel High School.
Norman was united in marriage to LuEtta K. Pankratz on November 15, 1950. She preceded him in death on December 16, 1997, after 47 years of marriage. Norman later married Leona (Gehring) Wall on March 20, 2004.
Norman was a member of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel.
He was a livestock and grain farmer.
Norman is survived by his wife, Leona Schroeder of Goessel; children, James (Janice) Schroeder of Newton, and Kathryn (Robert) Woelk of Hillsboro; daughter-in-law, DaLonna Schroeder of Hesston; Leona's children, Darryl (Val) Wall of Valley Center, and Sandra (Howard) Rush of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his twin brother, Vernon Schroeder of Lititz, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LuEtta Schroeder; son, Delwin Schroeder; and two brothers, Raymond and Milferd Schroeder.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery, with memorial services to follow in the church at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 6, at the Bethesda Home Chapel, with family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethesda Home or Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, PO Box 96, Goessel, KS 67053.
