Norman Henry Schweiss, of Rolla, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the age of 93.
He was born on November 21, 1931 in Ste. Genevieve, MO to the late Joseph Schweiss and Earlyn (Geiler) Schweiss. On July 25, 1954 he married Shirley Jean (Fuller) Schweiss in Dixon, MO. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Ellie Schweiss; one brother, Elmer Schweiss; and one sister, Vernetta Huber.
Norman Schweiss lived a well fulfilled and accomplished life. His first love was his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, his wife Shirley of 70 years of marriage and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was able to fulfill his dream of owning and successfully operating an automobile dealership for decades. He also served our community as a board member of the Rolla Chamber of Commerce. He was known by so many in the community for his honesty and integrity. Norman enjoyed his time trout fishing Lake Taneycomo with his grandkids and many friends. Norman lived a quiet life with great wisdom, love, humility and grace. He accepted Jesus and was baptized on December 9th, 1972 and has faithfully followed and served the Lord while attending First Christian Church / Greentree for many years. Norman loved and served his country by serving in the Army. Norman had so many incredible qualities and he impacted many many lives by the great example that he set. Norman will be missed by so many and his family have great peace knowing that he is truly at home in the hands of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his wife, Shirley J. Schweiss of Rolla, MO; three sons, Ron Schweiss and wife, Linda, Rick Schweiss and wife, Connie, and Kevin Fuller and wife, Stacey, all of Rolla, MO; five grandchildren, Cameron Schweiss, Caleb Schweiss, Jeremy Schweiss, Jesamy Jeffcoach, and Jake Fuller; and nine great grandchildren, Weston Schweiss, Ally Schweiss, McCoy Schweiss, Raelyn Schweiss, Ryann Schweiss, Lucy Jeffcoach, Olive Jeffcoach, Lainey Schweiss and Henry Schweiss.
A funeral service for Norman H. Schweiss will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Samaritan's Purse.
