Ms. O.D. Davis was born on January 24, 1940, in Mississippi to Ms. Cebell Carson. She accepted Christ at the age of 10. Her early years were spent in Mississippi before she later made Marion, Indiana her home. During her time in Marion, she was employed at Thompson, where she worked faithfully until her retirement.

Ms. O.D. united with Greater Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. J.D. Williams. She was an active member of the Sunday School Department, where she lovingly supported the primary students, and she remained a devoted attendee of Bible Study. She cherished time with her family and especially enjoyed playing games during reunions and gatherings. In her later years, Ms. O.D. moved to California to be closer to her children, where she spent the remainder of her life surrounded by their love.

Those left to cherish her memory include O.C. Dykes, Scott Jones Jr. (L'Vette L. Jones), Marvis F. Jones, Mariam C. Davis, Debra Davis (step daughter), and Nathan Davis (step son); her siblings, Inez Burnett, Eunice Scott, Melvin Carson, and Annie Williams; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Ms. O.D. was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Richard Carson, Billy Carson, Johnny Carson, and Katie Williams.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Greater Second Baptist Church, 705 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.
