Odell Spence

Odell Spence, 87 formerly of Sterling, OH, passed away at home on Monday, April 28, 2025 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Born January 9, 1938 in Stiltner, WV to the late Basil and Dorothy (Adkins) Spence; he worked for Smucker's for many years and eventually retired from Bell and Howell after 15 years of service. Odell enjoyed hunting, camping, dirt track racing, traveling to the beach and trips to the casino.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Obbie Spence, Mary Sula Smith, Justine Frazier and Basil Spence, Jr. Odell is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Geneva (Krahenbuhl) Spence; children, Leona Spence, Odell (Barbara) Spence, Jr, Basil Spence, and Gina Spence; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Larry (Deb) Schaffter and Tami (Nevin) Horst; 5 step grandchildren; 4 step greatgrandchildren; siblings, Willa Jean Napier, Albina (Paul) Trogdon, Chloa (Cletis) Wallace and Odis Spence; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Gary and Tashena Shoup and Crossroads Hospice for their wonderful care of Odell.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
