Odessa Deshawn Haney, 46, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will held Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary Chapel. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. When life begins it’s said to be an open book with many blank pages. Each day of our lives is a different page in this book. This book is filled with good times as well as bad, ups as well as downs. This is what makes our books so precious and personalized. The book of Odessa Haney begins on December 24, 1977, to the parents of Dolores Haney and Marvin Perry in Lubbock, Texas on that wonderful Christmas Eve. Odessa was raised in Lubbock and attended Lubbock schools. Odessa was blessed with her most prized possession a baby boy, Zachary Haney with the late Brodrick Stevenson in 1992 which she cherishes so dearly.

Odessa was a very loving, caring, special and kindhearted person. She loved to travel and make people laugh and smile. To know her was to definitely love her.

Odessa leaves to cherish her memories her mother Dolores Haney, her stepfather Chad Bolton, her father Marvin Perry, her son Zachary Haney, her fiancé, David Taylor, four brothers, Jason Haney, James Perry, Marvin White, Anthony Chavez, five sisters, Natasha Gonzales, Teresa Haney, Kara Matthews, Camie Haney, Amber Patterson, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends.

She will definitely be truly missed.
