AYER: Noreen A. O'Toole, 77, of Ayer, died Thursday, December 19, 2024 at University of Massachusetts - Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.
Noreen was born in Ayer, September 12,1947 the daughter of Richard J. and Kathryn A. (Sullivan) O'Toole and was a lifelong Ayer resident.
Noreen was a 1965 graduate of Rose Hawthorne High School in Concord and then continued her education at the University of Connecticut and later at Fitchburg State College where she received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education.
For over thirty years Noreen taught in the elementary grades in the Ayer School System, beginning at the Pond Street School before being reassigned to the Page Hilltop School. She was a member of St. Nicholas Parish in Ayer & Shirley and enjoyed spending time at her family home in Centerville on Cape Cod. She was an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs over the years.
Noreen leaves her bother Richard K O'Toole and sister in law, Christine of Acton, two nieces, Caitlin O'Toole of Acton and Annie O'Toole -Nutter, Annie's husband Ben Nutter and their children Harrison and Kinsley Nutter all of Shrewsbury.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 28, 2024 at St. Nicholas Parish celebrating at St. Anthony's Church, 14 Phoenix Street, Shirley.
Noreen's family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours 4-7 PM Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte 2A) Ayer. www.andersonfuneral.com
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Parish, 31 Shirley Street, Ayer, MA 01432.
