Olga McClanahan Helm

Mrs. Olga "Ollie" McClanahan Helm, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024.
Ollie was born on April 28, 1931, in Saint Louis, MO to John and Olga Sauer. She was raised with her two sisters and later moved to Cincinnati. She worked at Southern Ohio Bank for many years and was a volunteer at CAIN (Churches Active In Northside) for over 30 years. She was a member of United Church of Christ. Ollie was honored by Mayor John Cranley when he declared April 28, 2021 as "Ollie Helm Day" in Cincinnati.
Ollie married Catlett Helm and he preceded her in death in 2009. Ollie was also preceded in death by her parents, John Sauer, Olga Sauer, daughters, Kathy McClanahan, Ann Singleton, daughter-in-law, Sharon Render, grandson, Joseph Schmidt.
Ollie is survived by her children, Lynda (Joel Knepp) McClanahan, Louis (Belinda Wiggington) McClanahan, Dan McClanahan, Libby (Oren) Perrine (nee Helm), Mary (Jack) Hilborn (nee Helm), Joan (Bob) Schmidt (nee Helm), siblings, Betty (Ralph) Stevens, Joanne (Larry) Joedicke, grandchildren, Matthew McClanahan, Lou McClanahan, Sarah McClanahan, Mark (Kylee) Miller, John (Christie) Hilborn, Laura (Ben) Bradford, Vanessa Wiggington and Chase Wiggington, many great-grandchildren and many extended relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 19, 2024, from 10:15 AM to 11:30 AM at First United Church of Christ, 5808 Glenview Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224. Services will begin at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
