Opal Gould, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Opal and her late husband, Ernest Gould, raised their family in the love and admonition of the Lord, building a strong foundation of faith that was evident in everything they did. Opal's love for her family was surpassed only by her love for God, and her unwavering faith was the foundation of how she lived her life. She cherished her time with her church family at Christ Gospel Church in Jeffersonville, where her deep belief in the teachings of Jesus was shared with her fellow congregants.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, Opal's legacy of love and faith leaves an indelible mark on her family and all who knew her. She was the beloved mother of Renee E. Santiago, Calvin R. Gould, Kevin W. Gould, Loree Chebbi, Ruth M. Robbins, and Christina D. Bocelli, and a doting grandma to her grandchildren: Nicole, Abbie, Sarah, Steven, Tyler, Logan, Shania, Jonathan, Cody, Kyle, Michelle, Jordan, Aiden, Ben, Naomi, Caleb, Joshua, and Jedidiah. She was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren, whose lives were touched by her gentle kindness and unwavering love.
Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Legacy Funeral Center – Jeffersonville. Funeral services in honor of her life will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Christ Gospel Church, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
