Mrs. Ora Mae Daniel Williams, 82, passed away Saturday evening at her home.
She was born in Hardeman County, the daughter of the late Norman Eugene and Bessie Mae Cox Daniel. On June 29, 1963, she married Mr. Thomas Edward Williams who preceded her in death on July 19, 2011. Other family members who passed before her include a daughter, Kimberly Williams and a brother, Paul E Daniel.
Mrs. Williams was a woman of many talents. For many years, she was a carrier for the Jackson Sun. She also managed a grocery and other shops, served as a Maitre'd, was a caregiver and homemaker. A faithful member of Cloverport Baptist Church, she was like a mother to and loved all the children. A true lover of life, she loved people but especially children and animals.
Mrs. Williams, and her husband, helped with the construction of the new Cloverport Baptist Church, with him being first person interred in the Cloverport Cemetery. Throughout their marriage, she followed Mr. Williams all over the world, as a true 20-year military wife, as he served his country in Bermuda, California, Little Rock and Blytheville among other locations. However, Mrs. Williams always considered Cloverport her home. Now that she has departed her earthly life, she truly is "home" with her Lord and Savior.
She leaves two sons, Lewis Adam Williams (Kelly) of Bethel Springs, TN and, Thomas Eric Williams (Leellen) of Cloverport; four sisters and brothers, Mary Hatch of Madison County, T. C. Daniel, Betty Weaver and Bobby Daniel, all of Hardeman County; a sister-in-law, Helen Daniel of Middleton; grandchildren, Paul Williams (Kristen), Karley Wilson (Cade), Thomas, Inez, Josie, Zadie Mae and Willow Rae Williams; and one great-grandchild, Emma Kate Taylor.
Memorials may be sent to the Cloverport Cemetery.
