Oran Junior Nichols

Oran Junior Nichols 88 of Ooltewah went to be with The Lord on December 5, 2022. He was an active member of Bayside Baptist Church where he was an active choir member. He has served the church as an elder, deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir soloist for many years. Oran was a kind, gentle loving person whom will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He served on the board of Christ Chapel Share & Care since its inception in April, 1999. He was employed and retired from Combustion Engineering in Chattanooga Tn. He sang with the Representatives Quartet for several years, and also sang in the group known as The Valley Singers who sang weekly at several nursing homes in the area. Oran was also in the army from August 5, 1957 – August 5, 1959 stationed at Fort Chaffee Arkansas and Fort Ord California.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Alma Holland Nichols; siblings Pauline Williams, Bonnie Sikes, Thelma Norman, J.C. Nichols, Elmer Nichols, Raymond Nichols; and grandson Charles Edward Jeffrey III.
Oran is survived by his second wife of almost 50 years Sue Ledford Nichols; children Tammie (Charles) Jeffrey, Bruce (Connie) Nichols, Ray Nichols; grandchildren Hayden Nichols, Shelby Nichols, Tabitha Jeffrey, Chase Jeffrey; great-grandchildren Kyler Coulter Knox Ellis, and Raylan Nichols. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday December 8, 2022 in the parlor of the funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 9, 2022 in the Ringgold Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Grady Cooper officiating. A burial will follow at Woodstation Cemetery
