Orlan J. Ramaker

Orlan J. Ramaker, age 89, of Kiel passed away peacefully at his home before going up north to visit his son and daughter-in-law, on Thursday morning, September 21, 2023.
Orlan was born on January 7, 1934 in Sheboygan, son of the late Arthur and Hildegarde (Schultz) Ramaker. He was a 1951 graduate of Central High School, Sheboygan. On October 29, 1955 he married Evelyn Stein at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Orlan had worked for Polar Ware and Hayseen Mfg, retiring from Kohler Company in 1997.
Orlan enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer hunting, fishing, and gardening. Spending time with his family and friends at their home on Pigeon Lake brought him the most joy. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Evelyn, one son: Dennis (Wanda) Ramaker and one daughter: Nancy (Randy) Kudiro; six grandchildren: Jason (Amanda) Ramaker, Leta (Alan) Becker, Sarah (Chris) Vincent, Jenna Ramaker, Marcia (Blanca) Gamboa, William (Nikki) Kudirko; great grandsons: August Ramaker and Jonathon and Simon Becker; two great granddaughters: Elizabeth Ramaker and Camila Gamboa; two step grandchildren: Hayley Murray and Andrea (Robert) Murray and four step great-grandchildren: Ellie, Tayyveon, Sataya and Royal. He is further survived by sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Ramaker, Virginia Schulz, Yvonne (Glen) Hein, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Orlan was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Hildegarde Ramaker, daughter: Lori Suttner, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Peter and Marie Stein, one brother: Herschel Ramaker, two sisters: Ardith Sprenger and Valle Mae Warner, and sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: LaVerne (Rollie) Meyer and Ray Schulz
Mass of Christian Burial for Orlan will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 11:00AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (11928 Marken Road) School Hill. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 9:30AM until 10:45AM when brief family rites will be held.
A Memorial has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank all of the family and friends that have been there for Orlan and Evelyn the past two months, all of the calls, visits and support were greatly appreciated. A special thank you to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for keeping Orlan comfortable the last few weeks.
