Orlow Alton Widvey

Orlow Alton Widvey, a cherished member of the Hudson community, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at the incredible age of 103. Born on June 27, 1922, Orlow lived a life marked by his deep Christian faith, service to his Lord, and an affection for craftsmanship and nature.

Orlow proudly served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, dedicating his youth to protecting his country and ensuring a future for generations to come. His experiences shaped him into the remarkable man he was-resilient, resourceful, and deeply committed to his community.

A true craftsman at heart, Orlow found great joy in woodworking, spending countless hours honing his skills and creating beautiful pieces that reflected his meticulous nature. he could often be found in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, where he lovingly tended to his land and built a workshop that served as a sanctuary for his creativity. Orlow enjoyed long walks, inside and outside. Even at the age of 100, he knew how many laps around the parking garage it took to walk a mile.

Orlow is survived by his cousins, Barbara Karlan, Gary Allram, and Patricia Fleishhacker; brother-in-law, Gerald (Beverly) Thaldorf, Gerald's children- Clark (Terra) Thaldorf and Chris (Kevin) Buswell; sister-in-law, Vange Thaldorf, Vange's children- Peter (Darla) Thaldorf and Becky (Joe) Duellman; sister-in-law, Janet Thaldorf; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Aly) Thaldorf, Brandy (Jon) Morse, Kimberly (Mark) Schroeder, Holly (Craig) LaPlante and Brian (Lisa) Thaldorf; Plus, many extended family and friends. Orlow was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Hilda Widvey; parents, John and Annie Widvey; sister, Sybil Eleanor Widvey and devoted friend, Mark Stensgard.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring Orlow's life, August 22, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 712 Grandview Dr, Hudson, WI. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, with a visitation one hour prior. Please stay for a luncheon following the service where we will celebrate his remarkable journey and the indelible mark he left on our lives.

As we prepare to say our final goodbyes, we hold onto the lessons Orlow imparted-dedication to his Lord, a love for craft, and the beauty found in the world around us. In our hearts, he will always remain a pillar of strength and inspiration.
