Orville E. Leisure, age 96 of Pensacola FL, crossed over to meet his Savior Jesus Christ on April 12, 2025.
He was born August 14,1928 in McHenry, Kentucky to parents Charles F. Leisure and Lena Mae Graham Leisure. He was one of six children. Brothers, Willard Leisure, Clifford Leisure and Bill Leisure. Sisters, Grace Hilliard and Margaret Beasley. His parents and siblings all preceded him.
Orville married Katherine Kataoka and they had 2 daughters, Linda Lois Leisure and Barbara Sue Leisure.
He later married Alma Geneva (Jenny) Bice Leisure. Jenny had 3 daughters, from her former marriage, who Orville adopted in his heart as his daughters, Linda Jean Bell-Vernon (Troy), Shirley Ann Bell-Dauphin (Denver), Donna Sue Bell-Cook (Mike) Orville and Jenny had one child together, daughter, Connie Leisure Carter (Jerry).
He is blessed with many grandchildren, Alexis Stromberg (Rodney), David Turner (Lana) Danny Vernon (April), Anthony Vernon (Brianna), John Howell (Kristin), Cary Howell (Iris), Shawna Cook, Clarence Michael Cook and Grant Carter.
He is Great Grandpa to Sherril Turner-Brown (Chris), Johnny Rankin Vernon (Hannah), Justin Vernon, Kennaley Vernon, Braylin Vernon, Madison Howell, Logan Howell, Shelby Howell, Aspen Howell, Bentley Howell, and Chehalis Cook. He has three Great-great grands, Tommy, Miracle and ArryAwna.
Orville enlisted in the U.S. Army at age eighteen and retired after 22 years of exemplary service as Sergeant First Class E7.
Orville was a faithful servant of the Lord God Almighty and truly cherished God's word. He had read through the entire Bible countless times in his life, memorizing many scriptures which he would share with others as he witnessed for the Lord and would share to comfort others as needed. It was often said by many that he was one of the most helpful and caring persons they had ever met.
He was a hard worker but did enjoy time spent golfing and fishing. Some of his happiest moments were driving across the United States with his Sweetheart Jenny as they towed their travel trailer behind them, visiting relatives and taking in many beautiful sights along the way. Orville had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He would help others if he could and did so often.
He will be missed by so many, but he and his loved ones are looking forward to that precious reunion one day, promised in his cherished word of God.
In Lieu of flowers, family and friends can donate to Gideon International for Bible donations.
